After the relaunch: How to check all printed QR codes in ten minutes
Step 1: List of codes
With dynamic codes, the list is in the dashboard – with names, target, and scan counts. With static codes, only the collection of printed materials helps: Each code is scanned once and the target is recorded.
Step 2: Check goals
- Open every target in the browser: Does the correct page or an error page appear?
- Redirects the target, switch directly to the new address.
- Test on mobile phone: Does the page load quickly and is it mobile readable?
Step 3: Customize
You switch dynamic codes to the new address in the dashboard, the print remains valid. Static codes require a redirect on the server of their old address - and a dynamic code for the next print.
Step 4: Secure permanently
Same-QR queries the target of each code every night. If a page returns a 404 or 410 error or is unreachable for two consecutive nights, you will receive an email with suggestions from your connected website. You decide what is adopted – nothing is changed automatically.
Frequently asked questions
With dynamic codes, no – the target is displayed in the dashboard and can be opened there in the browser. Scanning is only necessary for static codes.
Same-QR only reports unreachable pages if they fail for two consecutive nights. A single outage does not trigger an email.
Use dynamic codes for all new prints and switch the codes to the new pages before going live.
