Claude in the Gastro Daily Routine: Change menu, opening hours, and promotions in conversation

Connect Claude.ai with Same-QR

Claude is an AI assistant from Anthropic, which you use in the browser or in the app at Claude.ai. It becomes interesting for use in the restaurant when it not only writes but also executes changes. For this, you connect Claude to the MCP server of Same-QR at https://sameqr.com/api/mcp.

The login process uses OAuth: Same-QR opens, you log in, and check the box "Also create and change texts", otherwise Claude can only read. After that, Claude can edit your menu and your hosted pages, such as opening hours & directions, All Links, Promotion, or Contact with form.

Examples from the business

This is what typical instructions sound like in everyday life:

  • "Daily special today: Spinach dumplings with brown butter."
  • "We are closed on Monday, November 2nd. Write that as a note to the opening hours."
  • "Create a promotion page: Every Thursday in November Martin's goose, only with reservation, valid until the end of November."
  • "Add a button for reservation on the page with all links." New links on a published page count as a target change: For this, Claude additionally needs the right "Also change targets, take offline and delete" and your confirmation.
  • "Which enquiries came in this week via the contact form?"

The QR codes at the table, at the door, or on the flyer remain the same. They point to the addresses of the pages, and their content has changed.

Check before publishing

Get into the habit of ending every instruction with "show me the result before you publish." This way, you can see what Claude understood. This is especially important for menus:

  • Are all prices correct?
  • Are the allergen details in the additional line correct? The restaurant is responsible for this.
  • Has nothing disappeared that should remain?

After publishing, scan the code at the table and view the page on your mobile phone.

Access and permissions

A connected assistant can do the same in your account as you can. Therefore: Only you connect Claude to Same-QR, not the entire team with your access. Do not share passwords or keys in the chat. If you no longer need the connection, remove it.

Limits

Claude understands a lot, but not everything. With ambiguous instructions, the assistant sometimes guesses. "Make the soup cheaper" can mean many things. The clearer the instruction, the better the result. For larger changes, such as a completely new menu, the dashboard is often more user-friendly. Or you can have the new menu scanned from a photo and review it there at your leisure.

Conclusion: why Same-QR

Same-QR makes Claude your assistant for menus, opening hours, promotions, and enquiries. You say what has changed, Claude enters it, and you publish it. Additionally, there are 88 designs for 11 restaurant types and an allergen legend in the language of your guests.

Frequently asked questions

Does this also work on mobile?

Yes, if you use Claude on your mobile device and the connection to Same-QR is set up. The easiest way to set it up is once on a computer.

Can Claude create new QR codes?

Yes. Through the MCP server, Claude can also create codes, modify them, and read their scan counts.

What if Claude makes a wrong change?

You correct it in the conversation or in the dashboard. To prevent it from going live, have changes displayed to you before publishing.
