AI Prompts for Restaurant Owners: Templates for Menus, Promotions, and Guest Information
How a good prompt is structured
A prompt is the instruction you give to an AI assistant. Good AI prompts for the hospitality industry have four parts: what should be created, with which facts, in what tone, and in what length. The more you specify, the less the AI has to guess.
- Task: "Write a description for..."
- Facts: Ingredients, preparation, price, date.
- Tone: "factual, friendly, without superlatives, without exclamation marks".
- Length: "at most 15 words" or "three sentences".
Only provide facts that are true. The AI likes to invent what you do not mention.
Templates for the Menu
- "Write a description for each of these dishes with at most 15 words. Mention the main ingredient, preparation, and side dish. Do not invent ingredients. Here is the list: ..."
- "Organize these dishes into logical categories for a mobile menu. At most six categories."
- "Shorten these descriptions so that each fits on the mobile screen in two lines."
- "Check this menu for typos and inconsistent spellings. Do not change any prices."
Templates for actions and events
- “Write a notice for our wine evening on Friday 13 November from 19:00. Registration required. Three sentences, inviting, without exaggeration.”
- “Phrase the conditions of our happy hour clearly and briefly: Monday to Thursday, 17:00 to 19:00, valid for all cocktails, cannot be combined with other offers.”
- "Turn this poster into a short text for Instagram."
Templates for opening hours and holidays
- "Write a notice for the door: Closed from February 2 to 16, open again at usual times from February 17. Friendly, two sentences."
- “Write a holiday notice: open on 24 and 31 December from 11:00 to 14:00, closed on 25 December.”
Prompts that directly modify Same-QR
If your assistant is connected via the Same-QR MCP server, it can not only write the texts but also enter them directly. The login is done once via OAuth. During login, check the box “Also create and change texts”, otherwise the assistant may only read. Then instructions like this will work:
- "Enter as the daily special: Roast pork with dumplings. Show me the menu before saving."
- "Write the notice about the holiday closure to the page with our opening hours."
- "Create an action page for the wine evening, valid until November 13, and show it to me before publishing."
- "Add a button to our reservation page on the page with all links."
The QR codes remain the same because they point to the addresses of the pages. New buttons or links on an already published page count as a target change and additionally require the permission “Also change targets, take offline and delete” as well as your confirmation. Check the page on your mobile phone after every change, especially prices and allergens.
Conclusion: why Same-QR
Good prompts save time, a connection to Same-QR saves the rest: The assistant writes the text and enters it directly onto your menu, action page, or opening hours page. You review and approve it, and the QR code remains the same.

Frequently asked questions
The text templates yes. The prompts that change the pages directly require an assistant connected to the MCP server of Same-QR, such as ChatGPT or Claude.
AI texts tend toward exaggerations like 'unforgettable' or 'the best'. This quickly seems unbelievable to guests.
Only if you provide the information yourself. The AI does not know your recipes and must not guess allergens.
