Create QR codes with Claude: Connect Same-QR in Claude.ai, step by step
Claude and tools: briefly explained
Claude is an AI assistant from Anthropic. On Claude.ai, it answers questions and writes texts. With connectors, it gains tools from other services and performs tasks there independently. Technically, this runs via MCP, the Model Context Protocol. You do not need to program anything for this.
Step 1: Account at Same-QR
Register for free at sameqr.com and confirm your email address. Two dynamic codes are permanently free, without a credit card.
Step 2: Add connector in Claude.ai
In the settings of Claude.ai, you add a custom connector. As of October 2026, this is done under Settings, Connectors, Add Custom Connector. The menus change occasionally, and Anthropic determines in which Claude plans this is possible. Enter the following address:
https://sameqr.com/api/mcpStep 3: Log in to Same-QR
After "Connect", a window from Same-QR opens. You log in and see what Claude is allowed to do. Without checkboxes, only read; with "Also create and change texts", also create codes and pages; with "Also change targets, take offline and delete", additionally reconfigure existing codes. Then "Allow". This is OAuth: Claude gets permission, but never your password.
Step 4: Create the first code in the conversation
Start with a question that changes nothing, then create a code:
- "What plan do I have at Same-QR, and how many codes can I still create?"
- "Create a dynamic QR code that points to https://example.com/menu. Name: Menu Tables."
- "Create three codes for the posters in the city center, all with the target on our campaign page, and attach the label Poster Autumn."
You retrieve the print file as PNG, SVG, or PDF from the dashboard.
Step 5: Modify and evaluate
- "Change the code Menu Tables to the winter menu."
- "How many times were the three poster codes scanned? Sort them by scans."
- "Which of my codes still point to the old website?"
Once a campaign ends, setting a new target is usually better than deleting, such as the standard menu. Anyone scanning an old flyer will then not land on an empty page.
Maintain control
- When making changes to printed codes, display the plan and then confirm.
- Changing targets and deleting requires Same-QR to first obtain your confirmation, at most 10 per hour, and you receive an email each time.
- Read menus before publishing, especially prices and allergens.
- Scan once after each change.
Conclusion: why Same-QR
Same-QR turns Claude into an assistant that truly manages your QR codes: create, switch, evaluate, all within the same conversation. Everything ends up in your account and in the dashboard, login remains secure, and at night Same-QR checks every target and writes to you if one is unreachable.
Try it yourself: sign up for free at sameqr.com. Two dynamic QR codes are free forever, no credit card needed, the paid plans can be cancelled monthly, and your guests never see ads when they scan.
