Update opening hours via assistant: Holidays and vacations without login

Why opening hours are often wrong

Updating opening hours sounds like a small thing. In practice, they appear in many places: at the door, on the website, in the Google Business Profile, on flyers, in social networks. If something changes, such as before holidays or during vacation, usually only part of it is updated.

Every restaurant owner knows the result: Guests stand in front of a closed door and say that online it said something different.

The hosted page for times and directions

Same-QR has a template "Opening Hours & Directions" as a hosted guest page: Times per day of the week, address with a button for the route and a phone number to tap. Additionally, there is a note field for everything that does not fit into the weekly schedule, such as vacation or holidays.

A dynamic QR code at the door or in the window leads to this page. If the times change, you change the page. The code remains the same.

Change in conversation

With an AI assistant like ChatGPT or Claude, this is possible without login. You connect the assistant once to the MCP server of Same-QR (https://sameqr.com/api/mcp) and log in via OAuth. After that, an instruction is sufficient:

  • "We are closed from now on Mondays. Change the opening hours."
  • "Write as a note: Business vacation from February 2nd to 16th."
  • "Remove the vacation note again."
  • “From now on we are open until 23:00 on Fridays and Saturdays.”

Show yourself the page before saving it, and then check it once on your mobile phone.

Time control for fixed changes

Some changes can be planned and repeat themselves: a lunch menu until 15:00, then the evening menu, or a separate page for the rest day. For this, scheduling is available from the Pro plan. A code forwards to different targets depending on time of day, weekday or date, in the code’s time zone and with up to 10 rules per code.

With this, you no longer need to change anything for recurring changes. The assistant is then there for the unexpected: illness, water damage, spontaneous special opening.

Don't forget other places

A well-maintained hosted page only helps if other places do not contradict it. With every change:

  • adjust the Google Business Profile, including special opening hours,
  • check your own website, if there is one,
  • replace the sign on the door,
  • in case of doubt, briefly inform social networks.

A trick that saves work: wherever possible, do not print the times themselves, but the QR code to the hosted page. Then there is one source that is correct.

Conclusion: why Same-QR

Same-QR gives your opening hours a reliable address: a hosted page with times, note field, route, and phone behind a QR code on the door. Changes can be made in the dashboard or in conversation with your assistant; fixed changes are handled by time control starting from Pro.

Frequently asked questions

Can I enter holidays in advance?

Yes, as a note on the page. For recurring changes by date or day of the week, scheduling is available starting from the Pro plan.

Does the assistant also change my Google profile?

No. It changes your pages on Same-QR. You manage the Google Business Profile yourself there.

Do I need to reprint the QR code at the door when the times change?

No. The code points to the hosted page, and you can change its content at any time.
