Switching from QR TIGER to Same-QR: Step by step
Inventory in the QR TIGER account
Anyone wanting to switch from QR TIGER to Same-QR first needs an overview. Log in to QR TIGER and note the name, current destination, and short link for each dynamic code. According to QR TIGER's FAQ, dynamic codes run via the qr1.be domain. Note where the code is printed and how long the printed material remains in circulation.
According to the provider's product updates, scan data can be downloaded from the statistics as CSV, and code images can be downloaded together as ZIP. A complete list of all codes with destinations is not described there; if in doubt, create one in a simple spreadsheet.
If you no longer know which printed code belongs to which entry: take a photo of the code and upload it in Same-QR under “Read a QR image”. Same-QR reads what is in the code, i.e. the old short link. Where that short link redirects to, you can see in your old provider’s account.
Create codes in Same-QR
At Same-QR, two dynamic codes are permanently free without a credit card. For more codes, there is Start with 25 codes for €5.90 per month, Pro with 150 codes for €14.90, and Agentur with 1,000 codes for €49.00. Scans are unlimited in the paid plans.
In the dashboard, under “Many codes at once”, you will find “Import a spreadsheet”. Download the template there, enter your codes and upload the file again. The template has three columns: Name, Target URL and Labels. Comma and semicolon both work as separators; separate several labels with a vertical bar (|). Labels that do not exist yet are created during the import. CSV import is part of the Start plan and above.
The destination is always your actual website or file, not the qr1.be link. For new prints, you can choose a descriptive link when creating it, for example sameqr.com/r/messe. It is fixed afterwards.
Bridge: Redirecting qr1.be codes
As long as your QR TIGER plan is active, you can change the destination of each dynamic code. Enter the new Same-QR link there. Then, a scan from the printed qr1.be code runs via Same-QR to your destination. You will only make changes at Same-QR from now on.
- Test the new Same-QR code individually.
- Set the destination at QR TIGER to the Same-QR link and save.
- Scan the printed qr1.be code.
- Check the box in the list.
The easiest way is the migration assistant under Dashboard → “QR codes” → “Move from another provider”: it reads your list as a CSV or Excel file, lets you assign the columns name, destination URL, old short link and labels, and creates the codes, as many as your plan allows. Afterwards you download a list “old short link → new Same-QR link”, which is exactly what you need for the bridge. An overview of switching is at sameqr.com/wechseln/en.
Replace printed materials
Every new printed material gets the Same-QR code directly; print files are available in every plan as PNG, SVG, and PDF. You replace the old ones based on importance. In the Same-QR dashboard, you can see which codes are being scanned, allowing you to identify which old prints are still in use.
Cancel plan and secure data
According to the FAQ from QR TIGER (as of October 2026), dynamic codes no longer work when the plan expires, and data is retained for at most one year. The bridge therefore only lasts until the end of the plan. Before that, download the scan data as CSV and, if necessary, the code images as ZIP.
All paid Same-QR plans can be cancelled monthly at the end of the billing period, with no minimum term. You can also cancel without signing in via “Cancel contracts here” at the bottom of the website.
At Same-QR, the end of a subscription is handled as follows: Codes within the quota of your new plan continue to run unchanged – in the free plan, the two oldest. Codes beyond that are deactivated by us only after a 14-day grace period, and you will receive three emails beforehand (7, 3, and 1 day before). Deactivated does not mean deleted: The code shows a notice instead of the destination when scanned and works again as soon as your plan covers it.
Frequently asked questions
No, the domain belongs to QR TIGER. Instead, you change the destination of each code to a Same-QR code as long as your plan is active.
According to the FAQ from QR TIGER, data is retained for at most one year. Download scan data and images beforehand.
Generally no. Save the statistics before cancellation with the old provider, as far as they offer an export. In Same-QR, the count begins with the first scan via the new code.
Codes within the quota continue to work; in the free plan, the two oldest ones. Codes above the quota are deactivated after a 14-day grace period and three warning emails, but not deleted, and work again as soon as your plan covers them.
