Switch to Same-QR

Bring your codes, printed codes keep working. Four steps, and no guest ever sees a dead link.

How the move works

Import, bridge, reprint, cancel — in that order.

  1. 1Import your codesGet the list of your codes from your current provider (export or template, see below). In the dashboard under “QR codes” → “Move from another provider”, upload it — CSV or Excel, up to 1,000 rows. The assistant maps the columns, shows a preview and creates the codes.
  2. 2Set up the bridgeAfter the import you get a list “old short link → new Same-QR link”. At your old provider, set the destination of each code to its new Same-QR link (sameqr.com/r/…). Printed codes keep working, and from now on you see the scans in Same-QR.
  3. 3Reprint with your next print runFor new menus, flyers and table stands, use the Same-QR codes directly. You only need the bridge while old prints are in circulation.
  4. 4Cancel the old subscriptionOnly once no old codes are in circulation. When the old subscription ends, many providers also stop redirecting — and so the bridge ends. What exactly happens is listed per provider below.

How it works at Same-QR

  • On the Free plan, 2 dynamic codes are free forever. There, the destination can be changed 2 times per code; on paid plans as often as you like.
  • If you cancel a paid subscription, it runs until the end of the billing period; after that, Free applies. Your oldest 2 codes keep redirecting unchanged.
  • Codes above the quota are deactivated after 14 days — we email you three times beforehand. Deactivated means: scanning shows a notice instead of the destination. Nothing is deleted; once your plan covers the codes again, they redirect again right away.
  • You can cancel in your account under “Manage / cancel subscription” or without signing in via “Cancel contracts here” (footer).
  • The import itself is free. Every imported code counts towards your plan’s quota; when it is full, the assistant tells you how many arrived.

Guide per provider

Where the code list is and what your current provider does with the codes when you cancel. Only information from the providers’ help and pricing pages, as of october 2026.

QR Code Generator PRO (by Bitly)

Get the list: A CSV list of all codes is not documented in the help center. It offers scan statistics per code as CSV and, in the Professional and Enterprise plans, a bulk download of the images as ZIP. Copy name, old short link and destination from the overview in your account into our template and upload it.

On cancellation: According to the help center, dynamic codes are deactivated when the free trial ends; a scan then leads to a service page of the provider instead of the destination. The data is kept and can be reactivated with a subscription. According to the pricing page, the subscription renews automatically with a 30-day notice period.

Bridge: Change destination: open the code, set “Destination” to the new Same-QR link, save.

QR TIGER

Get the list: According to the product updates, scan data can be exported as CSV from analytics; a list of all codes with destinations is not publicly described. Try the analytics export — if the destination is missing: Copy name, old short link and destination from the overview in your account into our template and upload it.

On cancellation: According to the FAQ, a dynamic code stops working when the plan expires; data is kept for at most one year.

Uniqode (Beaconstac)

Get the list: Uniqode exports code data as CSV, including the columns “QR Code Name”, “QR Code URL” (old short link), “Destination URL” and “Labels”. Upload that file directly — the assistant recognises the columns.

On cancellation: According to the help center, codes become inactive when the subscription expires. They can only be reactivated with the same short links in the same account.

Bridge: According to the help center, the destinations of many codes can be changed at once via CSV or Google Sheets — handy for the bridge.

On cancellation: According to the pricing page, when falling back to the free plan, all dynamic codes except the last 10 are paused.

Other providers and static codes

Get the list: Look for “Export”, “Download” or “CSV” in your account and upload the file. If there is none: copy name, old short link and destination into our template. Static codes (e.g. from free generators) carry the destination in the image itself — they cannot be redirected, only reprinted.

Questions about switching

Do I have to reprint my printed QR codes?

Not right away. As long as the old provider still redirects, set the destination there to the new Same-QR link. Reprint with your next regular print run.

Are my previous scan counts transferred?

No. Name, destination, labels and the old short link are imported. Scan statistics at Same-QR start with the first scan via the new link — so right away through the bridge.

What does the move cost?

The import is free. 2 codes are free forever on the Free plan; for more codes you need a paid plan. Your old provider’s subscription continues as long as you need the bridge.

My provider has no export. What now?

Download the template in the assistant and copy name, old short link and destination from the overview in your account into it. The import also works without the old short link, but then the mapping for the bridge is missing.

I use my own domain at my old provider. Does that work?

Same-QR does not currently offer custom short-link domains. The bridge still works: at your old provider, set the destination of the code under your domain to the new Same-QR link.

What about static QR codes?

A static code carries the destination in the image itself and cannot be redirected. If it points to your own website, you can set up a redirect there; otherwise only reprinting helps.
