Business card, review link, flyer: permanently free QR codes for the self-employed

Working for yourself still means printing: business cards, flyers, a sign on the door. Each of them can trigger an action if a QR code is on it. Save the contact, book an appointment, write a review. For a one-person business an expensive subscription is not worth it. With 20 permanently free dynamic QR codes most of this is covered.

The business card: vCard or link?

There are two ways for the business card. A vCard QR code holds your contact details directly in the pattern. Anyone who scans it can add you to their address book straight away, even without internet. In return it cannot be changed after printing. A dynamic QR code instead leads to a page with contact details, services and links. If you move or change your number, you change the destination and the cards stay valid. If you print many cards at once, the dynamic code is usually the better choice.

The review link

Reviews happen where a job ends: at handover, on the invoice, in the last email. Create a QR code that leads directly to the review form of your Google Business Profile and print it on the invoice or a thank-you card. A separate code for this purpose shows you how often it is actually used.

Flyer, shop window, practice sign

  • Flyer: one code per distribution round, so you see which one paid off
  • Shop window or door: opening hours and contact, even when you are closed
  • Practice sign: straight to appointment booking
  • Vehicle: to the page with your services
  • Quote or price list: to the current version instead of an old PDF

Together with the business card and the review link, that makes seven QR codes. 13 remain free, for example for promotions or a second flyer.

When something changes

A new booking service, a new website, a move: the self-employed change things more often than they think. On the free plan the destination of each QR code can be changed twice. After that the code stays valid and leads to the last destination. For content that changes often, a page you maintain yourself is worth using as a fixed destination.

What is free and what is not

At Same-QR, 20 dynamic QR codes are permanently free, with 1,000 scans a month for the whole account. There is no trial period, no credit card and no ads when scanning. Your own colours and your logo in the QR code belong to the paid plans. A clear black code on a white background scans reliably, though, and fits almost any layout.

Conclusion

For the self-employed, what counts is not the number of QR codes but where they are. Business card, review link and one code per flyer bring the most. Create them as dynamic codes so your print survives a move or a new booking service.

Frequently asked questions

Can I create a QR code for my business card for free?

Yes. A dynamic QR code to your contact page is included in the free plan. A vCard QR code with the contact details in the pattern also works, but cannot be changed after printing.

Where should the review QR code lead?

Directly to the review form of your Google Business Profile, not to the home page of your website.

Can I put my logo in the QR code?

Not on the free plan. Your own colours and a logo in the code come with the first paid plan.
