Hovercode leads here: according to the pricing page, 3 dynamic codes without expiration, with unlimited scans and no ads. Same-QR offers two dynamic codes without expiration with 10,000 scans per month; beyond that, the codes continue to work, and visitors see a hint for 2 seconds before the destination. Who what fits

  • Hovercode fits if you want a custom domain or are fine with up to 3 codes permanently for free.
  • Same-QR fits if you need many codes at a quantity-based price, with export and unlimited scans.
  • Same-QR also fits for agencies: client projects and up to 50 connected websites in the Agentur plan.

A switch is easy because Hovercode forwards 3 codes after cancellation.

The easiest way is the migration assistant under Dashboard → “QR codes” → “Move from another provider”: it reads your list as a CSV or Excel file, lets you assign the columns name, destination URL, old short link and labels, and creates the codes, as many as your plan allows. Afterwards you download a list “old short link → new Same-QR link”, which is exactly what you need for the bridge. An overview of switching is at sameqr.com/wechseln/en.

Frequently asked questions

Is Hovercode or Same-QR cheaper?

This depends on the number of your codes. The smallest paid plan costs €11 per month at Hovercode according to the pricing page, and €5.90 per month for 25 codes at Same-QR. Compare the quantity you need.

Which free plan is better?

Hovercode has 3 codes with unlimited scans according to the pricing page, Same-QR has 2 codes with 10,000 scans per month. Both are permanent and without ads.

Can I use my own short link domain with Same-QR?

No, not currently. Your codes run via sameqr.com/r/…, optionally with a self-chosen, descriptive link.

What happens to my Same-QR codes if I cancel later?

Codes within the quota continue to work; in the free plan, the two oldest ones. Codes above the quota are deactivated after a 14-day grace period and three warning emails, but not deleted, and work again as soon as your plan covers them.
