Free plan comparison
Hovercode leads here: according to the pricing page, 3 dynamic QR codes without expiration, with unlimited scans and no ads. Same-QR offers 20 dynamic QR codes without expiration with 1,000 scans per month; beyond that, the QR codes continue to work, and visitors see a hint for 2 seconds before the destination. If the limit is exceeded for more than 7 days, they show only a notice until the end of the month. There is never any advertising on Same-QR. In the free plan, you can change the destination twice per QR code.

Both leave some QR codes active after cancellation and do not delete the rest. Many providers, on the other hand, deactivate all dynamic QR codes when the subscription ends.

A switch is easy because Hovercode forwards 3 QR codes after cancellation.
The easiest way is the migration assistant under Dashboard → “QR codes” → “Move from another provider”: it reads your list as a CSV or Excel file, lets you assign the columns name, destination URL, old short link and labels, and creates the QR codes, as many as your plan allows. Afterwards you download a list “old short link → new Same-QR link”, which is exactly what you need for the bridge. An overview of switching is at sameqr.com/wechseln/en.
