Export QR.io codes and import them into Same-QR
What you need from QR.io
For a QR.io export for migration, you only need three things per code: a name, the destination, and, for the bridge, the old short link on qr.io. Everything else, colors, frames, logos, you set up anew in Same-QR, because every new code gets a new image anyway.
According to the pricing page (as of October 2026), QR.io offers mass creation and an API. An export of the code list is not described there. Check your account to see if there is an export function. If so, use it and continue with the preparation below.
If no export is available: List manually
Create a table with the columns Name, Target URL, Labels and transfer the codes from the account. Add a separate note column for the qr.io link, which you remove before import. Focus on dynamic codes: Static codes continue to work according to the pricing page even without a subscription.
If you no longer know which printed code belongs to which entry: take a photo of the code and upload it in Same-QR under “Read a QR image”. Same-QR reads what is in the code, i.e. the old short link. Where that short link redirects to, you can see in your old provider’s account.
Prepare the table
- Header: Name, Target URL, Labels.
- Destination URLs completely with https://.
- Delete columns with the old short link or other addresses before import so that Same-QR reads the correct column as the destination.
- Separate multiple labels with a vertical bar, for example „Flyer|Autumn“.
- Save as „CSV UTF-8“.
If your file comes from an export with different column names, rename the column with the name to "Name" and the column with the destination to "Target URL" and delete all others.
Import into Same-QR
In the dashboard, under “Many codes at once”, you will find “Import a spreadsheet”. Download the template there, enter your codes and upload the file again. The template has three columns: Name, Target URL and Labels. Comma and semicolon both work as separators; separate several labels with a vertical bar (|). Labels that do not exist yet are created during the import. CSV import is part of the Start plan and above.
The easiest way is the migration assistant under Dashboard → “QR codes” → “Move from another provider”: it reads your list as a CSV or Excel file, lets you assign the columns name, destination URL, old short link and labels, and creates the codes, as many as your plan allows. Afterwards you download a list “old short link → new Same-QR link”, which is exactly what you need for the bridge. An overview of switching is at sameqr.com/wechseln/en.
Check before redirecting
Before you change anything at QR.io, check the new codes. Scan a few with your mobile phone and compare the destinations with your list. Only then do you set the destination of each dynamic code at QR.io to the new Same-QR link while the subscription is active. This ensures no guest lands on the wrong page.
- Count: Do the codes in Same-QR match your list?
- Destinations: Scan samples.
- Labels: correctly assigned?
- Bridge: scan the printed qr.io code after switching.
One thought for later: At Same-QR, you can download the entire list as CSV at any time with "Export all", in every plan. This makes the next move easy too.
Frequently asked questions
No. Same-QR generates new images. Own colors and logo are available from the Start plan, print files as PNG, SVG and PDF in every plan.
So that the import clearly takes the correct address as the destination. You only need the old link for the bridge, for which your own copy of the list is sufficient.
As many as your plan supports: Start 25, Pro 150, Agentur 1,000.
Generally no. Save the statistics before cancellation with the old provider, as far as they offer an export. In Same-QR, the count begins with the first scan via the new code.
