Important for a fair comparison: Same-QR scales prices based on the number of QR codes. If you only need a few QR codes, you pay the least in the smallest plan. Check QR.io's pricing page to see what scope is included in the subscription, and then compare the amount you actually need.
Test and free plan
According to the pricing page, QR.io offers a 7-day trial. After that, dynamic QR codes without a subscription become inactive; static QR codes continue to run.
Instead of a trial period, Same-QR offers a free plan with no expiration: 20 dynamic QR codes, 1,000 scans per month, no credit card, no ads. In the free plan, you can change the destination twice per QR code.

QR.io offers mass creation and an API according to the pricing page; on Trustpilot it has 4.2 out of 5 stars as of 06.10.2026 with 14,651 reviews. Static QR codes run permanently there.
Same-QR offers print files in PNG, SVG, and PDF formats, 14 QR code types, labels, and a CSV export of all QR codes in every plan. Starting from the paid plans, you get custom colors and logos, CSV import, and batch download. With the paid plans, you can connect your website: Same-QR checks targets overnight and suggests replacements for dead links, and time-based scheduling changes the target according to time or day of the week. Same-QR does not offer a custom short link domain.

You can switch without reprinting in one go: As long as the QR.io subscription is active, you redirect the dynamic QR codes to Same-QR.
The easiest way is the migration assistant under Dashboard → “QR codes” → “Move from another provider”: it reads your list as a CSV or Excel file, lets you assign the columns name, destination URL, old short link and labels, and creates the QR codes, as many as your plan allows. This depends on the number of QR codes. According to the pricing page, QR.io costs $39.99 per month, while Same-QR costs between €5.90 and €49.90 excl. VAT per month for 20 to 2,000 QR codes, depending on the plan. Compare the quantity you actually need.
Instead of a trial period, there is a free plan without an expiration date with 20 dynamic QR codes. You can change the destination twice per QR code.
Only to a limited extent: QR.io lists dollars, while Same-QR lists euros including sales tax. We have not converted anything. Check the current pricing page before making a decision.
QR codes within the quota continue to work; in the free plan, the two oldest ones. QR codes above the quota are deactivated after a 14-day grace period and three warning emails, but not deleted, and work again as soon as your plan covers them.
