Limits you should be aware of

According to QR TIGER's FAQ (as of October 2026), dynamic QR codes no longer work if the plan expires, and data is retained for at most one year. This is similarly regulated by many providers, but it is important for anything you print. Additionally, there are limits of the free plan: according to Capterra, it is 500 scans per QR code. For a QR code on a well-visited table or poster, this can be reached quickly.

When a switch is worthwhile

• You want to be able to pay monthly and cancel monthly.
• You need unlimited scans, without worrying about scan limits per QR code.
• You care about what happens to printed QR codes after cancellation.
• You want to be able to export your QR code list at any time.

Same-QR is available in every paid plan without a scan limit and is cancellable monthly. The free plan includes 20 dynamic QR codes with 1,000 scans per month; beyond that, the QR codes continue to work with a short notice before the destination, never with advertising. If the limit is exceeded for more than 7 days, they show only a notice until the end of the month.

Where QR TIGER has the advantage: Same-QR does not offer a custom short link domain.

How you can test the alternative without risk

Create one free QR code at Same-QR and try it out without a credit card. If it suits you, move over: create QR codes, change the destination of each QR code in QR TIGER to the Same-QR link, replace printed materials, then cancel.

The easiest way is the migration assistant under Dashboard → “QR codes” → “Move from another provider”: it reads your list as a CSV or Excel file, lets you assign the columns name, destination URL, old short link and labels, and creates the QR codes, as many as your plan allows. At Same-QR, the end of a subscription is handled as follows: QR codes within the quota of your new plan continue to run unchanged – in the free plan, the two oldest. QR codes beyond that are deactivated by us only after a 14-day grace period, and you will receive three emails beforehand (7, 3, and 1 day before). Deactivated does not mean deleted: The QR code shows a notice instead of the destination when scanned and works again as soon as your plan covers it.
