Uniqode Alternative: What to Consider When Switching
Who Uniqode is Built For
If you are looking for an Uniqode alternative, you should first know what Uniqode stands for. The provider, formerly known as Beaconstac, offers features such as mass changes, organizations, and custom domains, which are primarily used by companies with many codes and multiple teams. According to the pricing page (as of October 2026), plans start at $9 per month, only with annual payment; the Core plan costs $49 per month. There is a 14-day trial.
What Uniqode Does Well
- Well-documented CSV export of the code list, according to the help centre with Name, Short Link, and Destination URL.
- Mass change of destinations via CSV or Google Sheets from the PRO plan onwards, according to the help centre.
- Custom domain in the Plus plan or as an add-on, according to the pricing page.
- Reactivation of expired codes with the same short links in the same account, according to the help centre.
If you use these features daily, you are well served at Uniqode.
When an Alternative Fits
- You want to pay monthly instead of only annually.
- You do not need the features for large organizations.
- You need a price that scales with the number of your codes.
- You want a free plan without an expiration date, not just a trial.
Important to know: According to the help centre, Uniqode codes become inactive when the subscription expires. Therefore, a switch requires planning so that printed codes remain accessible.
How Same-QR solves these points
Same-QR is cancellable monthly, with no minimum term; those who pay annually pay ten monthly prices. Two dynamic codes are permanently free, without a credit card, with 10,000 scans per month. The paid plans:
| Plan | Price | Dynamic Codes | Scans |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 0 € | 2 | 10,000 per month |
| Start | €5.90 per month | 25 | unlimited |
| Pro | €14.90 per month | 150 | unlimited |
| Agentur | €49.00 per month | 1,000 | unlimited |
At Same-QR, the end of a subscription is handled as follows: Codes within the quota of your new plan continue to run unchanged – in the free plan, the two oldest. Codes beyond that are deactivated by us only after a 14-day grace period, and you will receive three emails beforehand (7, 3, and 1 day before). Deactivated does not mean deleted: The code shows a notice instead of the destination when scanned and works again as soon as your plan covers it.
What Same-QR does not offer: a custom short link domain and features for organizations with many teams. For agencies, there are client projects in the Agentur plan.
The switch soon
- Export the code list from Uniqode as CSV.
- Restructure the file for Same-QR and upload it via “Import a spreadsheet” (from Start).
- In Uniqode, set the destination of each code to the new Same-QR link; from PRO, also via mass change.
- Replace printed materials, then let the subscription end.
The easiest way is the migration assistant under Dashboard → “QR codes” → “Move from another provider”: it reads your list as a CSV or Excel file, lets you assign the columns name, destination URL, old short link and labels, and creates the codes, as many as your plan allows. Afterwards you download a list “old short link → new Same-QR link”, which is exactly what you need for the bridge. An overview of switching is at sameqr.com/wechseln/en.
Frequently asked questions
According to the help centre, they become inactive. Reactivating with the same short links is only possible within the same account.
Yes. All paid plans run monthly and are cancellable at the end of the billing period. If you pay annually, you pay ten monthly prices.
No, not currently. Your codes run via sameqr.com/r/…, optionally with a self-chosen, descriptive link.
Codes within the quota continue to work; in the free plan, the two oldest ones. Codes above the quota are deactivated after a 14-day grace period and three warning emails, but not deleted, and work again as soon as your plan covers them.
