Switching from Uniqode to Same-QR: Step by step
Export from Uniqode
Anyone switching from Uniqode to Same-QR has an advantage: According to the help centre (as of October 2026), the code list can be exported as CSV. The file contains the columns QR Code ID, QR Code Name, Organization, QR Code URL, Destination URL, QR Code Type, Owner email ID, Creation Date & Time, Labels, Frame Text, Scans. For the migration, you mainly need QR Code Name, Destination URL, and QR Code URL, i.e., the old short link, and optionally Labels.
Save the export file unchanged as the original. It also serves as your documentation of which short link pointed where.
Create codes in Same-QR
For the import, you restructure a copy of the file: QR Code Name becomes “Name”, Destination URL becomes “Target URL”, Labels remains “Labels”. You delete all other columns, especially QR Code URL, so that Same-QR does not read the old short link as the destination. How exactly this works is described in the article on Uniqode CSV export.
In the dashboard, under “Many codes at once”, you will find “Import a spreadsheet”. Download the template there, enter your codes and upload the file again. The template has three columns: Name, Target URL and Labels. Comma and semicolon both work as separators; separate several labels with a vertical bar (|). Labels that do not exist yet are created during the import. CSV import is part of the Start plan and above.
The number of codes depends on the plan: Start 25 for €5.90 per month, Pro 150 for €14.90, Agentur 1,000 for €49.00.
The easiest way is the migration assistant under Dashboard → “QR codes” → “Move from another provider”: it reads your list as a CSV or Excel file, lets you assign the columns name, destination URL, old short link and labels, and creates the codes, as many as your plan allows. Afterwards you download a list “old short link → new Same-QR link”, which is exactly what you need for the bridge. An overview of switching is at sameqr.com/wechseln/en.
Bridge: Redirecting Uniqode codes
As long as your Uniqode subscription is active, you change the destination of each code to the corresponding Same-QR link. The new short links are provided to you by the migration assistant as a list “old short link → new Same-QR link” after creation. If you imported via spreadsheet, “Export all” helps: The CSV has an ID column, and the short link for each code is sameqr.com/r/ followed by this ID. Assign the new link to each Uniqode code via the name.
For a few codes, you change the destination individually. For many, bulk change helps: According to the help centre, destinations can be changed collectively via CSV or Google Sheets starting from the PRO plan. Afterward, you scan sample printed codes.
Replace printed materials
New prints receive the Same-QR code directly, as PNG, SVG, or PDF. You replace the old ones based on importance. The Scans column from the Uniqode export shows you which codes are used frequently and should be replaced first.
Cancel subscription
According to the help centre, Uniqode codes become inactive when the subscription expires; reactivating with the same short links is only possible in the same account. The bridge thus remains valid until the end of the subscription. Let it expire once the important prints have been replaced.
All paid Same-QR plans can be cancelled monthly at the end of the billing period, with no minimum term. You can also cancel without signing in via “Cancel contracts here” at the bottom of the website.
At Same-QR, the end of a subscription is handled as follows: Codes within the quota of your new plan continue to run unchanged – in the free plan, the two oldest. Codes beyond that are deactivated by us only after a 14-day grace period, and you will receive three emails beforehand (7, 3, and 1 day before). Deactivated does not mean deleted: The code shows a notice instead of the destination when scanned and works again as soon as your plan covers it.
Frequently asked questions
In the moving assistant, yes, there you assign the columns yourself: QR Code Name as Name, Destination URL as destination, QR Code URL as old short link. For "Import a spreadsheet", you rename the columns beforehand and delete the others.
The moving assistant provides a list "old short link → new Same-QR link" after creation. Otherwise, "Export all" helps: The link of each code is sameqr.com/r/ plus the value from the ID column.
Generally no. Save the statistics before cancellation with the old provider, as far as they offer an export. In Same-QR, the count begins with the first scan via the new code.
Codes within the quota continue to work; in the free plan, the two oldest ones. Codes above the quota are deactivated after a 14-day grace period and three warning emails, but not deleted, and work again as soon as your plan covers them.
