Choosing a provider2 min read

Which QR code provider is the most flexible?

Our answer: The most flexible QR code provider is the one where you can change as much as possible after printing: destination, destination page, schedule, plan, and if necessary, the provider itself. Same-QR meets all seven points below. Check them with every provider before printing a large run.

1. Change the destination at any time

The basic requirement. Check whether the number of changes is limited and whether there is a history from which you can undo a wrong change.

2. Switch from the link to your own page

Today the code points to your website, tomorrow to a campaign page that you build quickly yourself. This is only possible if the provider hosts pages and you can switch the code to them.

3. Multiple destinations by time

One code, at noon the lunch menu, on the weekend the brunch offer, from December 1 the Christmas campaign. A time schedule by time, day of the week, and date saves you manual switching.

4. Plan up and down

Your needs change with the season. Check whether you can switch monthly and what happens to codes that no longer fit when switching to a smaller plan. Deleted or only paused, that is the decisive difference.

5. Many codes at once

For labels, branches, or campaigns, you do not want to create each code individually. A CSV import and a download of all codes as a ZIP file save hours.

6. Connect other programs

With an interface, a cash register system, shop, or your own script can change the destinations themselves, such as the daily offer every morning.

7. Be able to switch providers

Being flexible also means not holding customers back. Ask if you can get your codes as a list and if a new provider can read them in.

What remains fixed with every provider

The short address in the pattern cannot be changed after printing, which is inherent to the nature of printing. Email and call codes usually have the address or number fixed in the code. Choose both carefully when creating.

This is how Same-QR does it

  • unlimited destination changes in paid plans, destination history with one click back
  • 8 page templates, a link code can be switched to a custom page
  • Scheduling from Gastro Pro or Marketing Pro
  • cancelable monthly, excess codes are paused instead of deleted
  • CSV import and ZIP download from Gastro Starter, REST API in every plan
  • Migration: Import lists from other providers as CSV or Excel

Conclusion

Flexibility is determined after printing. Check the destination, page, schedule, plan, mass work, interface, and exit. What is missing will otherwise only be noticed once the print run has already been distributed.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change the type of a QR code later?

Often only to a limited extent. A link code can usually be switched to another page, email and call codes retain their address or number.

Can I change the short address of the code?

No, it is embedded in the printed pattern. Choose it yourself when creating it or let a random identifier be assigned.

What happens to excess codes with a smaller plan?

Every provider handles this differently. At Same-QR, they are paused after 14 days and three reminders, not deleted.

How important is an interface?

For small businesses, hardly. For shops, agencies, and anyone who wants to change destinations automatically, very.
