Table QR codes and table cards: a unique QR code for each table

Bild von Unsplash

A single QR code for the entire venue is sufficient for the menu. However, once an ordering app is involved or you want to know where scans are happening, a unique QR code for each table becomes helpful. In Same-QR, you can create these table QR codes for multiple tables in one step and download suitable table cards to fold.

Why a QR code per table

  • The menu knows which table it was opened on and displays “Table 4” at the top.
  • With a linked ordering app, “Table 4 · Order here” leads directly to the app, optionally with the table number inserted.
  • Each scan is counted per table. You can see whether the garden area or the indoor dining room generates more scans.
  • The A6 table card automatically features the correct QR code.

Same-QR is not a standalone cash register or ordering system. For ordering at the table, you link an ordering app you already use. If its address contains the placeholder {tisch}, Same-QR inserts the table number there.

Creating table QR codes

  • 1. First, publish your menu. Table QR codes cannot be created beforehand.
  • 2. In the editor, go to the “Order at the table” section. If available, select your ordering app as the provider.
  • 3. Under “Table QR codes”, specify the range of tables, for example from 1 to 12.
  • 4. Same-QR shows you in advance how many QR codes this will use. Tables that already have a QR code are skipped.
  • 5. Tap “Create table QR codes”.

Up to 60 tables can be processed at once. Each table QR code counts toward the QR codes included in your plan. Therefore, table QR codes are part of Gastro Pro (€14.90 excl. VAT per month) and the larger plans.

What the guest sees

SettingDisplay on the menu
Ordering app linked“Table 4 · Order here” leads to the app
Without app, notice on“Table 4” and “Please order from the staff”
No app, hint offNo table number, only the menu

When someone scans a table qr code, they only see the “Order at the table” path. The page hides delivery services, phone calls, or WhatsApp ordering for them, since they are already seated with you. You can turn the “Please order from the staff” hint on or off in the same section.

Print the Table card A6

Under “Table card for the tables in your restaurant”, enter the table numbers from–to and download the print file with “Table card A6”. The table card is a tent card to be folded:

  • Open: 105 × 296 mm, creased in the middle, it stands as a table stand in A6 format
  • Readable from both sides, with the table number and the QR code of this table prominently displayed
  • At the top: “Order here” if an ordering app is linked, otherwise “Menu”
  • Multiple tables are provided as a ZIP file, one file per table

If you have not yet created a table qr code for a table, its card displays a QR code with the address of your menu, including the table number.

For printing, use sturdy cardstock of at least 300 g/m², matte rather than glossy, so that lamps do not cast reflections on the QR code. In the garden area, a laminated or acrylic-framed card lasts longer.

Analysis: which tables scan

In the code list and under “Statistics,” you can see the scans per table QR code. If a table is unusually quiet, the menu might be hidden or knocked over. After a few days, you can check whether the placement and size are suitable.

Conclusion

With table QR codes, your menu knows which table it was opened on: table number at the top, direct path to the ordering app, and scans per table. The A6 table card comes with the correct QR code included. You can start for free on sameqr.com and build your menu; table QR codes are available with Gastro Pro.

Not for the menu alone. A QR code per table is worthwhile if you use an ordering app with table numbers or want to see scans per table.

How many table QR codes can I create?

Up to 60 tables at once. Each table QR code counts toward the QR codes in your plan; table QR codes are available from Gastro Pro onwards.

What is the format of the table card?

A tent card, 105 × 296 mm when open, creased in the middle to A6 size, readable from both sides.

Is Same-QR an ordering system?

No. Same-QR links your existing ordering app with the menu and inserts the table number into the link.
